WILL LANE: Active Studio To Street Styles

From the moment I met WILL LANE Founder Emily Soong, I immediately picked up on the energy she brings with her to every endeavor. Her professional life started in finance, and after five years of working at a major financial institution, she decided to go into education. When she turned 30, Emily caught the entrepreneurial bug and decided it was time to branch out on her own. Her personal love of fitness and fashion led her to create WILL LANE. Inspired by home base of New York City, WILL LANE represents the intersection between urban, active, and fashionable living. Each seam, angle, color, and feature is carefully designed and constructed so maximum performance can be reached with style. Smooth and soft four-way stretch fabrics comfortably move with you.

Q&A WITH FOUNDER EMILY SOONG

1. Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Berkeley Heights, NJ, but my parents are originally from Taiwan. I've lived in NYC since 2006.

2. How would you describe your brand's style?
We create "active studio to street" styles. Monochromatic and bold minimalism with a bit of edge.

3. What does a typical day look like for you?
Most of my days consist of lots of emailing, jumping on conference calls and running to meetings. But I always start my day with a good cup of coffee (no milk/sugar) and check the news to see what's going on. When I get a workout in, it's usually at the end of the day. I'm more of a night owl, so working out later in the day helps me decompress. These are the two bookends of an average day for me.

4. Favorite NYC workout?
At the moment, Barry's Bootcamp. Always challenging and great for the entire body.
