Tell us about yourself. Where are you from and where do you live now?
I grew up in Northern NJ, just outside of NYC. I went to high school in NYC and lived there until 2021. I moved to Manhattan Beach, CA in April of 2021 and am loving the beach life!
What did you do career wise before starting your brand?
I started my career in sales for a large corporate advertising firm. I started by cold calling and over the years, built a strong account base. Despite having a “successful” career financially, I soon realized that as a woman I would never quite reach my full potential within that company. I left it all and fulfilled my dream of moving to Spain.
Describe your brand. When did you launch? Where are you based? Why did you start?
I tried to start Plush while I was living abroad in Spain, but found it too difficult with the limited resources that I had abroad. At 28 years old, I moved back into my parent’s house in NJ and started the company with $3,000. Plush began as just the 2 styles of our original fleece-lined tights. Within a couple of months, the orders started flowing in and my parents helped me pack and ship them out of their basement!
